Orphanage Visit Permit (not all orphanages allow visits)
$990.00 per orphanage
Includes guide services (required by the Civil Affairs office and orphanage and included in the fee of $990)
Available for any adoptive family! This service is ideal for families who are already planning a trip to China. We can help make that trip even more special by arranging a visit to your child’s orphanage. Our special relationship with the China adoption authorities and orphanages allows us to plan a memorable orphanage visit, if the orphanage allows visits. Your Legacy Journey Travel Advisor will let you know if your child’s orphanage allows visits. This gives you and your child a chance to meet orphanage caretakers and directors (note that your child’s specific caretakers will not likely be available). Legacy Journey will submit your paperwork for visit permission and book your visit. The $990 service fee includes the visitation fee paid to the local civil affairs office on behalf of the family. Guide services include transportation to the orphanage and escort/translation at the orphanage only and is included in the $990 fee. If you want to tour the orphanage city, or would like to have the guide for additional purposes, there will be additional fees.
*Orphanage Visit Fees are not included in the Legacy Journey tours.

Gifts of Love
Over the years, families have wanted to donate gifts to the Chinese orphanages that cared for their children; gifts that improve the orphanages and enhance the lives of the children left behind but were constantly having a difficult time determining what to purchase. Great Wall China Adoption has found a way to let families express their gratitude through a program called “Gifts of Love” that organizes donations. The “Gifts of Love” program does all the work for you and your child’s orphanage will reap all the benefits by getting that needed washing machine, air conditioner, or whatever else it is that they might be lacking. The donation will be given in your adopted child’s name. Even if you’re not visiting your child’s orphanage during your trip, you and friends and family can donate ANYTIME to this program. Many families who have already adopted donate yearly to their child’s orphanage through our program. Even if your family ends up not planning a trip to China, this service is offered for families who adopted from China.
Please feel free to contact your Legacy Journey Travel Advisor if you have any questions or concerns. You can also go to our website to read more about “Gift of Love.”

Mobile Phone Service
Most people choose to call home using Skype, which is a free internet program you can download, if calling from computer to computer. Make sure you have a camera, or you will only have the instant messenger feature. Using the free version allows you to call another computer using video chat if you have internet access and a microphone or webcam. Skype can also be used to call from your computer to a landline for a small fee. Please see skype.com for more information.
Calls to the U.S. can be made from your room but service fees are high. If you have AT&T international home phone service, you can charge to your home phone using USA Direct. MCI and Sprint also offer international calling card capabilities. It is recommended that you contact your phone service provider before your trip to assure that you will not be charged additional fees.
Legacy Journey also offers mobile phones that can be used to call home, and locally. We offer 120 minutes for $130, and a 60 minute phone for $98. Phones can be reloaded with your guide’s help. The mobile phone will be provided you by your guide, upon arrival into your first city. Your Legacy Journey Travel Advisor will provide the phone number prior to your departure so you can give it to family and friends!
