Orphanage Visits
Our orphanage visit service is available to any adoptive family! This tour option is ideal for families who are already planning a trip to China.
The Chinese government requires an orphanage visit permit fee. You will also be required to have a registered guide with you at the time of the visit; otherwise, the orphanage will not grant you permission.
Our staff will advocate on your behalf to have the full experience during your orphanage visit. This includes, but is not limited to, a welcome by the staff, a tour of the orphanage itself (including the children’s room), and, if possible, viewing your child’s file. We will also advocate for you to have lunch with orphanage staff members.
Our one-time, non-refundable fee of $990 per orphanage covers the following:
- Orphanage visit permit fee
- Communication with Chinese government
- Communication with orphanage
- Advocacy on behalf of your family
- Registered guide fee
A typical orphanage visit will include you meeting the guide at the orphanage and touring the orphanage. This tour option is customizable – if you would like to tour the orphanage city, visit your child’s finding spot, or need transportation to the orphanage itself, please let your Travel Advisor know ahead of time.
Our orphanage visit tour families utilizing this tour option have been able to meet their child’s caretakers from years past, feed and play with orphaned babies & children, and have experienced in-depth tours, learning the history and culture of where their child was found and cared for before becoming a member of their family. Please note that each orphanage is different and has different regulations, so check with your Travel Advisor beforehand to see what you should expect when visiting your child’s orphanage.
